Has it really been 7 years?

I mean…I guess so, hasn’t it?

This is awkward. How do you reintroduce yourself to someone you haven’t spoken with in over seven years? Do I talk about what’s happened in that time? Do I start anew? What’s the etiquette regarding this?

Well, I’ll start with some changes. Since my last post, I graduated from college, got a dog, got married, and had two kids (both at home!). I’ve moved seven times, seeing six different states. There was a global pandemic (that, if you ask me, is still taking a toll on us today). I met some really cool, genuine, interesting people. I travelled out of the country twice and discovered my love for mountains and the moon. I’ve deepened my appreciation for yoga, and discovered the power and gift of herbal medicine.

What lead me back here, you ask? I was revealed a journal article I wrote in the heat of my blogging back in 2017 that basically said, “I love writing so so so much.” Well…then why did I stop? And why for so long? Your guess is as good as mine. Life does things sometimes. I gather other priorities must’ve taken the front seat and my recreational blog took a seat wayyy in the back. I forgot she was even there! But she spoke up, and now she’s back, and she’s older and wiser than she was before.

What does that mean for you? I mean, whatever you want it to mean. I’ve learned a few things over the years that I hope we can create conversation about. I’ve learned a lot as a mother, and what living authentically means. I love the way my life is unfolding and I hope you love yours too. Mine is perfectly imperfect and it brings me joy. There are many the things trying to take our joy away. May we find the freedom to share with one another what brings us joy.

Hugs to you, my friend. Looking forward to chatting with you again soon.
