I know I’ve only just decided to begin blogging again and I intended to catch up on my life and the what’s haps, but I would be unwell if I didn’t try to address what is currently happening around me.
As of just a few days ago, there have been multiple major wildfires around us in south LA as a result of dry climate conditions and some really intense wind. There are acres of mountainous land burning around me and thousands of families losing their childhood homes. I am one of the lucky ones being located in an area with minimal brush, but am devastated as I see the ash on the ground and smoke billowing from the orange-red flames just a short bit away from me. My heart goes out to those who suddenly have to rebuild their lives for reasons beyond their control.
Please support with whatever you can by donating to the LA Fire Department as they try to contain these fires.
I have been a bit disconnected from the news and social media, and I’m not sure exactly what the narrative is surrounding these events. I know there is conversation about preventative measures that could have been taken and lack of funding. Regardless, if you have the ability to contribute TODAY, please do.
